About The Play The Cast

Directors Notes

They say with a good cast and a good script, a play can direct itself. So, with a great cast and a great script, I have found my first directing role a fun but unnerving experience. It has been great to see both old "Front Room face's" and new actors working together to ensure "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" is the ultimate theatre experience. Be prepared to laugh, cry, get angry and feel proud as the area's premium group "tread the boards".

I feel it a great honour to be involved with Front Room yet again; as the director I consider this project a dream come true. "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" is my favourite play, and, directing the piece, with Front Room's talented performers, will rank up there with my proudest theatre memories. With live theatre hanging in the balance, many small theatres and their associated companies are closing. This is a great tragedy and I feel the loss a great deal. It is imperative, therefore that companies such as "Front Room" continue to supply entertaining and affordable theatre to the local surrounding areas.

We are bringing this production to two venues. The "Dukeries Centre" at Ollerton is our first stop, for one night only, and then we move on to our much loved "Old Library" which is our home and regular performance space; so yet again a big thanks goes to Christine, Fred and Nigel. Ultimately I would like to thank you, the audience, for your support. I hope you enjoy "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest," and all of Front Room's future productions.

I would like to finish with a massive thank you to my cast - you are all stars - do yourselves proud and thanks… for making this idiot feel great!
